Hey all,
Well this weekend, it was the turn of the final round of the Pearce Cycles Race Series. I wasnt able to go for the overall with my earlier injuries in the season, but a good solid result, would set me up well going into the winter off season.
The track was awkward in places, with some real tight trees, carpets of slick roots, and some nice big drops / ski jumps to split the pack. Race weekend started okay, practice i felt like i was struggling on some of the really roots sections, so i just took my time with them, chilled out and just had a good laugh all saturday. Had a nice chill evening sitting round a fire, all be it, a bit chilly.

Sunday morning, and i was feeling good on the track, so i was feeling pretty excited for my race runs in the afternoon. First race run, i finished in 2nd. I had a good start and got on all my lines, had a okay run, but it was messy, i knew i could go a bit faster, as would everyone as the track was drying, and the roots were becoming less of an issue.
Second runs time, and i had a good top, and just made sure i got every section smooth, came down to the bottom and put all i had into the field, and crossed the line into the hotseat, being second from last down, i was gauranteed a 2nd place or better. Last rider down, Brad Mather came down and hadnt quite beaten me.
It was a big win for me coming back, from my numerous injuries this year, i was 12th overall, and beat some big names.
until next time, see you soon!
Sam
