Sunday Saw the first race on the new Aston Hill Swiss+Swallow Black Run. Nearly 200 riders signed up to race on the day. And what a day! with blue sky and brilliant spring sun made for a perfect backdrop for the race.
We've put together a short clip there will be a better and longer version soon.
Judging by the feedback both yesterday and today everyone without exception, spectators and riders, had a good time, except for the one poor guy who ended up in A&E (get well soon buddy). On that note though consider this. We had nearly 200 riders turn up, all doing at least two practise runs and two race runs.
About 800 runs and only one A&E worthy crash. Good stats in my book. It was great to see such a wide range of riders from novices of all ages, juniors, National riders, many travelling along way to race. The RYDE racing team, all the way from France dispelled the myth of local rider knowledge being an unfair advantage by taking 3 podium places after only having visited the new Black run on Saturday!!
